Major Rule Change & Homebrewed Commanders

The first announcement pertains to the rarity rule. For the purposes of simplicity and to lessen confusion, the rarity rule is being removed. From now on, any card printed at uncommon and common is allowed no matter what its most recent printed rarity is. The rules and commander page will be updated to reflect this.

The other announcement is that I will be compiling a list of "homebrewed" commanders. These are uncommon creature cards that were created by the Magic Set Editor (MSE) community and have been peer reviewed. The main purpose of this is to fill in any color gaps; mostly the wedge colors which have about one uncommon creature per each wedge. Depending on how this goes, this could also lead to more of these commanders being created by myself and other members of the community. I believe that the community is fully capable of creating some amazing commanders that will be fair, balanced, and help fill in niches that are currently unoccupied. The use of homebrewed commanders would be strictly house ruled; either your group or the person you are playing against is okay with you using your homebrewed commander or they are not, this isn't an enforced rule.

Stay tuned for more updates along the way.
